When the owners purchased this detached bungalow in Chippenham, they could see the potential to extend upwards. They started to look at plans for a regular loft conversion, but found this option would be too low for their requirements. They discovered Moduloft’s roof raise option online.
Our design team worked closely with the family to ensure they came up with a solution that would give them an extra four bedrooms and three bathrooms in their roof space.
The property had plenty of character, from original brick work to a feature chimney. The chimney was an element that the design team wanted to retain and the finished result shows how sensitively this original feature was incorporated.
Our design team’s experience was really put to use when it came to planning the layout. On Moduloft’s recommendation, the master bedroom features a balcony that overlooks the rear garden. An exposed staircase and gallery landing were chosen to frame the home’s dramatic front window.
When the factory build commenced, the home owners were invited to view the loft in its early stages of design. This gave them the perfect opportunity to adjust the room structure and select fixtures and fittings.
Having more than double the space for our clients, this bespoke-finished roof project has created a desirable family home that blends old with new.
This project took 12 weeks from start to finish, with the lift taking one day and the installation team on site for just two weeks of construction.
The family are thrilled with the project and the value it has added to their property.
