Barn conversion

St John Rye is a former Ambulance Station which was built in the 1950’s.

The former station is located within a private walled courtyard alongside a Grade ll listed Georgian house which was previously the St John Ambulance Headquarters.

In 2016 award-winning interior architect, Marta Nowicka, converted the building into a stunning four bedroom holiday let.

Marta has not only restored features in the original building but added a new two storey extension to the end.

Specified for both the original and new structure were Conservation Rooflights measuring 1020mm x 1180mm. Each have been fitted with chrome handwinders to complement the modern interior as well as blinds to provide shading and privacy.

“The Planning Officer in Rother was very strict about what materials could and couldn’t be used on this project – your Conservation Rooflights were the only ones allowed on the specification! However, I am very happy with the finished result. The Conservation Rooflights look great installed flush and I am really pleased with the handwinders. Overall it is a great quality rooflight.”
