Richard and Julie Attridge’s oak frame dreams came true after they decided to start afresh with their plot, and knock down its existing cottage in spite of already-approved planning permission. Welsh Oak came to the rescue, helping to secure new planning permission from the local authority to build a spacious oak frame home. We oversaw the project from initial drawing stages, right up until wind-and-watertight finish.
The oak frame itself was erected in just 5 weeks. With exposed beams in just the right places so as to highlight the sculpturesque beauty of the frame, this project is packed with wow-factor. The property’s exterior is elegant and rustic, in keeping with its rural surroundings. Yet the interior is stylishly modern – with an internal walk-on rooflight illuminating the basement, large glazed walls, and a striking feature staircase.
This stunning four-bed home demonstrates the perfect blend of contemporary yet timeless architecture, as well as Welsh Oak’s efficiency and excellence.
