Over and under floors

I have just had underfloor heating, set in concrete, laid in my new house. I’m now looking at floorcoverings and would like to know which are suitable.

When choosing a floorcovering to go over underfloor heating, all you need to remember is that solid coverings such as tiles will add to the radiant heat base, while softer coverings such as carpet will slow down the output a little. Timber flooring will shrink or expand depending on changes in the temperature, so check with the supplier that the flooring is suitable to be laid over underfloor heating.
