Can I get planning permission to build on an old tennis court?

Hi we have a large house and garden that is in green belt land. The house is also on flood plane but it has never flooded in the 40 years we have lived here.

We have a tarmac tennis court with has an eight foot fence around it that was past by planning.

Would there be any chance of making this area a building plot or even installing a mobile home as the tennis court is now derelict? Thanks

Unless your Green Belt location is within a settlement where your council’s Local Plan allows for infill housing, then permission for a new dwelling on the old court is highly unlikely.

A mobile home, used as an annex to the main house as opposed to a completely separate dwelling, might be possible. You would need to obtain a certificate of lawfulness for this.

Did you manage to get planning on tennis court, I am in the same situation of buying a house on green belt land with un used full size tennis court hard surface ground and fencing but it’s quite near the house and wanting to build an annex either attached to house which I don’t mind
