I’m renovating a Victorian house and the original coving has a section missing. I’ve looked for replacements but have found nothing similar. Is it possible to get a replacement section made up, and if so, do you know of any companies that could do this?
You’ll need to have a mould made of the coving. To do this you’ll need to get someone to take an impression of the coving, or supply a section to a specialist company who’ll then make a mould from it and cast however many sections you need. Take a look at Butcher Plasterworks’ website www.butcherplasterworks.com for examples of restored coving (T: 020 7722 9771).
