This bespoke L-shaped garden room combines a home office with a versatile entertainment and family space. Measuring 30m² internally, the building includes a shower room and an additional 30m² canopy area that extends the living space outdoors.
Work began with ground preparation, levelling the site and installing water and waste connections for the shower room. The main building measures 7.7m x 4.2m and is finished in vertical composite spiced cedar cladding, with anthracite Hardie Plank on the less visible elevations. Anthracite UPVC windows and doors complete the exterior.
Inside, the room is bright and contemporary, featuring white grooved walls, plain ceilings, and light chestnut laminate flooring. Fifteen dimmable spotlights, multiple power sockets, and an ethernet port make it fully functional as a home office. The shower room is fitted out with a shower, vanity unit, toilet, extractor fan, and heated towel radiator.
A modern air conditioning unit using heat pump technology provides both heating and cooling throughout the year.
The canopy area creates an outdoor relaxing and entertainment zone, including a small bar, dining space, and lounge with a corner sofa. Matching vertical cladding links, the interior and exterior for a seamless design. A projector and retractable screen allow the space to double as a home cinema, while a dedicated base and composite decking at the far end accommodate a hot tub.
The result is a carefully designed garden room that balances work, relaxation and entertainment in one inviting space.
