At a crossroads

I have a potential building plot adjacent to a crossroads. One of the roads is a B road with a 30mph speed limit and this is the road where I would need to site my driveway access. Are there specific planning guidelines stating that my driveway would need to be a minimum number of metres from the crossroads? I do not believe there are any visibility issues at the crossroads.

There’s no hard and fast rules, but highway authorities do not generally favour access points close to junctions. To be certain, speak to your highways authority and if possible get one of their engineers out to have a look. Failing that, send them a plan. You can then resolve any possible highway safety issues before making a planning application.
