Bespoke Design – Interior Doors and Cantilever Staircase

A striking design by Zakuna features in the renovation of this luxury property in Epping to creates a stunning modern feel with a contemporary colour theme.

Interior Door Sets

Plana V door sets where chosen for their simple modern styling, manufactured in Brown Ash and painted in Cream RAL 9007. A 10% gloss clear lacquer was applied for a durable matt finish.

The bespoke styling included a rectangular groove CNC cut into each door leaf and a steel profile outlay was designed and manufactured, then set into the groove to create a striking 3D beading effect, accentuated in a black matt finish.

Concealed hinges, door seals, locks and latches were colour matched in black to complete the styling. Tupai 3094 designer curved door handles, also in black, complemented the bold design and added the perfect finishing touch to each door.

The shadow gap frame system was chosen to give the door sets a minimalist flush fitting look, contrasting in black to match the doors and skirting boards.

Cantilever custom staircase with quarter landing

This Cantilever staircase gives the look of a floating staircase and a vision of open space. This seamless ‘floating’ appearance creates a stunning effect which is aesthetically pleasing and enhances the natural flow of light with dramatic shadows. A distinctive feature in any room.

Oak stair treads were 100mm in depth, finished in black with LED lighting underneath for a dramatic effect. The extended bottom tread was fixed to the floor with a shadow gap design to continue the appearance of a floating stair and allowing the LED lighting to be fitted underneath.

For a simplistic look, the 12mm glass balustrade was fixed to the side of each tread with stainless steel bolts. A square 40mm Oak handrail, also finished in black completed the design.
