Barn conversion roof lights & solar options

22 June 2016

We have permission to convert a lovely stone barn in our yard to a house. We would like to get as much light in as possible, and they have given us permission to put an additional upstairs window in but we would really like some roof lights, or some transparent/semi transparent solar to get lots more light in, built inline with the gritstone slates. Our permission is on the policy of converting a vernacular building so we need to protect the heritage, but the building is not listed. We are in the Peak Park where they approve things for some but not others, but we also have a badly behaved neighbour who stirs things up all the time. We need to take the roof off to refelt etc.
Does anyone have any ideas of how to portray an idea in a planner friendly way, or any examples we could use, preferably in a national park.
We also have two large arch cartway doors which we want to glaze externally with a glass box if anyone has any good ideas for that also.

Many thanks

Sophie
