I recently read an article on VAT on new build projects in Build It Mag but am still unsure on our status. Our project is a new build showroom at ground floor level and one bed flat above.

Do you know if our building contractor should be charging vat on the projects? And does anybody know if the correct rate is it at 5 % or 0%? Does one rate apply to the commercial unit and zero on the residential? Can anyone there help with the answer or know where to find out?
