Car style pull-and-slide mechanisms for interior doors
I'm trying to find a supplier in the uk for this type of door closure. Can't use pocket doors and barn style don't offer sufficient privacy. I've been unable to find anything in the UK but that doesn't seem right. Can anyone provide any details?

This is an unusual query. I’ve come across similar pocket door options like the offerings at Eclisse, but not a pull-and-slide system like you would find in a car.
Maybe a motorised system could be adapted to suit a door, but that’s not something that I’ve done – yet.
Could you batten out from the wall to create a cavity to accept a pocket door mechanism? A downside of this approach, of course, is that you would lose some internal living area. Failing that, you might want to approach a carpenter to build you something bespoke.
