BOOK YOUR TWO FREE TICKETS HEREI’d like to restore the hallway floor in my Victorian house, as it retains the original encaustic tiles. Quite a few of them are damaged, so I’d like to either replace these tiles or lay a completely new, high-quality repro floor. Where can I buy either type of tiles?
If possible it’s always best to try and replace the original tiles, but as quite a few are missing, this may not be possible. Drummonds Architectural (T: 01428 60944 W: www.drummonds-arch.co.uk) stocks a range of original salvaged tiles so it’s worth seeing if there are any to match your flooring. If not, it’s worth asking if they have had any of the same design in the past, and if they are likely to get any more. Alternatively, Craven Dunnill Jackfi eld stock a range of encaustic tiles based on archive designs (T: 01952 884124 W: www.cravendunnill-jackfield.co.uk). Alternatively, if you supply them with a tile, they should be able to match it.
