How Can We Install Our Own Windowsills?
3 January 2022
by Samantha Rabone
Hello. I have recently purchased a house to find we have no internal windowsills on any of our windows. We have large external window ledges, but the windows internally sit flush against the wall. Is there a way we can have cills put in?
If the windows’ frames are flush to the internal wall face then you will not be able to fit recessed cills. You could theoretically add cills but they would effectively be “shelves”. For example, you could fix narrow, say 50mm, deep shelves to the bottom of the frames or possibly cornicing which may give the appearance of cills.
Hi Samantha,
Thanks for your question. I have contacted our experts and someone should be able to provide an answer shortly.
Best wishes,
