I have had an Idea for a self build for a few years now and recently started tinkering with some ideas in Planner 5D app on my phone, after having a bolt of inspiration. Getting further into it I find that the ideal components i.e. bi-fold doors, decent kitchen and bathroom furniture are all behind paywalls, and not one off payments now, seemingly monthly or annual subscriptions.

Having a look around online I came across some potentials, but was hoping someone could point me in the direction of I tried and tested option, thats preferrably FREE? :)

I have seen Sketchup mentioned and highly regarded on here, but was hoping for somthing that had less of a learning curve ideally. Something like that Planner 5D, which started off well... but y'know, times are hard, and I'm tighter than a duck's arse, so free is always better lol.

I have looked at some tutorials for Sketchup and while it does look good, I don't think I really need to go to the lengths of creating my own objects from scratch, unless thats the only way I am going to get them for free of course. But I think I'd ultimately end up hitting a paywall even with Sketchup, the more advanced I got with my design, wouldn't I? And when it comes to actually putting my hand in my pocket and starting a build, a professional would be required to do the proper drawings for submission anyway, so a user friendly option will do me for now, if poss...
