Running order

From first survey to carpenters coming in, in what order would all the work be carried out in the construction process of building a low-rise domestic building?

Answers

Apart from the obvious steps of obtaining planning permission and Building Regulation consent, the usual stages, ignoring any external works, are:
● Site, clearance, foundations, oversite and drainage
● Superstructure walls and intermediate floors, if applicable
● Roof structure and coverings
● Windows (if not built in) or glazing
● First-fix carpentry, plumbing and electrics
● Insulation, dry lining, plastering and jointing, floor screeds
● Second-fix carpentry, plumbing and electrics
● Kitchen
● Wall and floor tiling
● Decoration
● Finals carpentry, plumbing and electrics
● Builders clean and silicon sealants
