We would like to build a single storey home on part of our land which was a working farm. There is a listed bake house within the garden of our current house and to avoid potential issues with planning we would like to divide the property. Do we need a solicitor to do this or can we do this ourselves? Thanks Jo
Hi I am not a Solicitor but I was able to split my land myself by simply using my Planning drawings which were drawn up by an Architect before I submitted them to the local Planning authority and drawing in a new boundary line where I wanted it to be. Then entering the measurements on the area I wanted a new Title for. I submitted my drawing along with a completed TP1 and ID1 to the Land Registry and requested a new Title number for the piece of land I was splitting off.. I hope this helps.
