Extension plans

We originally put in for planning for a 2 storey extension on the back of the house - ground floor 3mx6m and first floor 2mx6m. This was approved but then we put in an adaptation to just build a ground floor extension for 2.5mx6m which was approved.
Due to changing circumstances we’d like to look at having just a 3mx6m ground floor extension - as this size for ground floor level was approved in the initial planning submission (as part of a 2 storey build) would we be ok to go ahead without further planning permission?

In theory you could build your ground floor 3m x 6m extension as the first phase of the permitted two storey extension. However, a permanent roof above first floor would obviously not feature in the permission, so, strictly speaking, once the first floor was completed and roofed, it would no longer have the benefit of planning permission. A third application is the way to go to remain above board.2. In theory you could build your ground floor 3m x 6m extension as the first phase of the permitted two storey extension.
