What is a reasonable quotation per m² for block paving? I have a quote for supplying and laying 60mm thick ‘Plaspave’ Sorrento blocks, including taking up an existing drive, 300mm deep excavation, and laying a stone base blinded with sand and treated with a stabilising solution. Besides costs, what else should I ask the contractor?

For carrying out the work, expect to pay £50 to £60 per m² based on the setts costing £22 per m². Ask the contractor for his starting and completion dates and payment arrangements. Also, make sure you see examples of his work.
