I am going to build a self-build house within the grounds of my main home for the purpose of being a furnished holiday let (FHL). As this FHL will be for business purposes I understand that I can’t reclaim VAT on materials, however, I find it unclear as to whether builders labour should be zero rated for their services to me. All comments welcome please.
