Matching fumed oak front and garage doors are the perfect finishing touch for this stylish renovation. The brief was to fill this Georgian-style home with light to tackle the dark and dated layout. The homeowners also wanted similarly sized bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. Working with Jack at Studio Reach Architecture, the home now features large, usable spaces with roof lanterns that bring in natural light. “The design also gave us much higher ceilings than we were anticipating, especially given the fact that the roof height hasn’t changed,” say homeowners Justin and Jo.

“We commissioned Clare of Clare Elise Interiors for the inside of our home, and she helped with the colour palette for the house, including the flooring, staircase, and bathrooms. She also helped us find new pieces of furniture. Clare has been great at meeting our brief and managing our budget,” they add.

Choosing an Urban Front door was straightforward. “We looked at Urban Front on Instagram and loved the chunkiness of the doors. When we visited the workshop, we were blown away by the quality and options. We quickly realised we wanted a dark, simple door, so it was an easy choice. We decided to go for fingerprint entry as we have a 12-year-old and could foresee future key loss!” say Jo and Justin.

Of the finished home, they say, “The kitchen is probably our favourite part as it’s a lovely space to spend time in. There are three separate areas, which will be great for entertaining. The bi-fold doors open into the garden, which will be useful once the landscaping is done… we now have a home that is perfect for us.”
