I’ve just had a new extension added to my house and the concrete floor is 20mm lower than that in the adjoining room. I don’t want to leave it as it is with a drop from one room to the other. What is the simplest way to level out the floors?
You could lay another fine concrete mix on top to level it off, then finish it with a self-levelling compound. You can use a fibre mix screed that can go down to around 20mm to 25mm, or you can use the self-levelling compound to build up the floor, but you’d need at least two layers. The option you choose also depends on the size of your extension.
