Welcome to Robert and Jeannine Young’s Turner Timber Frame home, winner of the Individual House: Self Build category at the Guildford Design Awards 2021.

Deceptively compact from the front, the property unfurls into a fantastic living space, while amazing use of glass opens the structure up to stunning views.

Among the key features the Youngs wanted from their dream home were a staircase that would preserve the free-flowing feel, recessed bookcases within the wall detail, and a wow-factor glazed corner with sliding doors gliding back. Turner’s experience and engineering specification ensured these elements came to fruition, to provide a truly stunning outcome.

Working with Jeannine and Robert, alongside project architects Kasia and Oliver at WWStudio, was a real joy.

From concept to detailed plans, engineering, steel design and final erection, Turners worked as part of a close partnership to produce a truly one-off, stunning award-winning property.
