I have a redundant piece of ground at the end of my garden. Unfortunately it is only 6 x 9m. Is there any point in trying to get outline planning permission for a small detached, twostorey property or is the land just to small for consideration?
This really is a very small plot indeed. It’s very doubtful that any council would grant outline planning permission to build a house on it. They might, though, grant full planning permission if a design could be devised that sat comfortably on the plot and blended in satisfactorily with its surroundings. That said, in almost all situations a detached house will have to have some amenity space or garden, and there could also be a need for parking on site. Add either of these requirements to the equation and it’s immediately obvious that a house wouldn’t fit on as well.
