Submit plansI’m in desperate need of some advice about my radiators. They are perfectly warm at the top, but at the bottom they’re freezing cold, even after hours of having my central heating on. I first thought that they needed bleeding, but this didn’t help whatsoever. Can you please tell me what could be wrong with them and how I can fix the problem?
You need to turn off all but one of the radiators in the property using the thermostatic radiator valve (if fitted) or the lock shield valve. It’s best if you start with the ground floor. Then with the house thermostat set at its maximum, to keep the boiler and pump running, bleed this radiator. When it is evenly heated move on to the next and repeat the procedure until you have fully bled the entire system. If this doesn’t work you may need to get a plumber to power flush the system and re-fill with an inhibitor, such as Fernox.
