Submit plansI’m currently carrying out a project in my garden. I’ve removed some old rotten decking and was left with step down of 8 inches. I’ve made a decision on what I want to use as a finishing: a blocked paved area with 2 inch blocks that will then lay on 1 inch of sand. I also plan to raise the ground with 5 inches of MOT type 1, so my question is how do I calculate the amount of MOT required, in weight? I assume the same calculation is used for sand?
I do my calculating by the cube method, that is a 1 mt cube would represent a ton of material and therefore if you required say a depth of 100mm then there would be 10 sq mts to that ton/ cube.
