What makes a good Air Source Heat Pump?
I am having air source heating installed into a new property but getting mixed messages for which manufactor of the air source pump is best...they are recommending LG do you have any reviews of this make....as it is a lot to have installed we want to get it right. much appreciate any advice.

I can’t recommend a specific manufacturers, however you should look for long-established companies and read as many product reviews as possible.
This report has a useful section at the end suggesting what to look for.
My strongest advice would be not to trust the manufacturers’ claims for coefficient of performance. The attached gives an average performance of 2.5, anything more is stretching it given that highest heat demand occurs when the temperature of the heat source (the air) is at its lowest – i.e. during winter!
Performance also depends on the proportions energy used for hot water (as this runs at a higher temperature), making the pump run less efficiently.
