What documents do I need for building regs sign off?

We are getting to the end of a conversion from shop to a flat. Can you tell me what documentation we will need to show the building inspector for him to sign us off? thanks

This information would normally be issued in response to an application for Building Regulations approval, so I’m a bit worried that the building control inspector hasn’t told you or why you haven’t asked them directly if you are unsure.

This is notifiable work and should have been inspected as work progressed to a schedule agreed with the inspector once they were aware of your intention to start the work and you (or your builder) gave the statutory 48 hours notice.

There’s key documentation like the SAP assessment and the electrical certification that will be required before the work can be signed off as being compliant with building regulations, but it’s not just a case of handing over some documents. I’d get in touch with your local building control department to make sure you are compliant with work carried out so far at the earliest opportunity.
