What’s the best alternative to a septic tank?

What solutions are there available for waste/sewage removal when no permission for septic tank is granted?

Are holding tanks my only option?

My property is next to a water treatment plant, so it seems that contamination is an issue with soak away and over spill.

I'm thinking there may be a treatment system that eliminates such contamination issues. Can anyone advise me of any options to explore?

Thank you

: If you have no access to mains drainage and a septic tank or treatment plant is not acceptable, then a holding tank (or cess pit) is likely to be the only option. It might be worth speaking to a technical expert at Kingspan Environmental to see if there is another solution, http://www.kingspan.com but if you are close to a water treatment plant, your options are clearly going to be limited so I think a holding tank and regular emptying by tanker is going to be the only answer here.
