What do I need to know to build an underground bunker?
Hi,
How do I build an underground bunker in the UK? I don't know where to start.
I am worried that I'll need to have an engineer to sign off the works. I think I need to adhere to the rules and regulations but I’m not sure what they would be or where to look.
Please help!

That’s a new one to me. Although this will be underground, planning permission will be required plus Building Regulations approval. I would probably speak to a foundation engineering specialist in the first instance or possibly a basement specialist as the methods of construction and regulations will be similar. They could produce the necessary drawings for the rest of the process to continue.
I’ve had some experience in (ship / anti-piracy) citadel design. You’ll need to consider what threat you want to isolate from and also the (perceived) duration of the isolation? Good luck
