Slimline Lantern Adds Light To A Self-Build Family Home

Beth and her husband Rich found the perfect plot of land and wanted to build their dream family home. Rich’s career as a property developer meant they could manage the build themselves and he completed most of the project himself. They demolished the unliveable bungalow and set a strict timeframe of completing the project in 12 months.

Creating a bright family room

Beth’s style inspiration was a modern take on a farmhouse inspired look. Beth and Rich knew they wanted as much light as possible in the main family room so a rooflight was always going to be included. Rich found the Roof Maker website after researching companies online. Easy Installation

Selecting the flat pack option Rich and his team chose to install the Slimline® themselves. Beth wasn’t on site for the installation, but the fact Rich had no complaints showed how easy it was to fit. Beth noted “It was everything you hope something like that would be, the installation was really straight forward.”

The Result

The couple have created an indoor-outdoor feel for the room, and the room has exceeded their expectations and feels airy, light and modern. It is a gorgeous space for the family of four to live, eat, entertain, and relax. They are extremely happy with how much light the Slimline roof lantern lets in. The angled glass maximises the natural light and makes everything so much brighter.
