Can I Fill the Trench for my Armoured Cable with Cement?

Hi,

My electrician has buried an armoured electric cable supplying power to my new workshop and going into the main house. However he has dug out a (I suspect) legal depth and width hole for this job. Can I just fill this hole with concrete/cement? Or do I need to place some sort of bridging over the cable and then cover? Or should I leave the hole as an inspection chamber and use a manhole cover?
