Hello, I'm wondering if someone can help. I’m a total novice so any help greatly appreciated.

I have electric underfloor heating and I'm replacing the carpet in the bedroom, which has a concrete floor, with laminate.

Do i need to put a polythene layer down before the underlay?

One Answer

  1. No, is the short answer.

More important is to ensure that you use carpet and underlay with a combined TOG rating of no more than 2.5, otherwise you will over-insulate the system and lose efficiency.
