Four years ago Darrell Pollikett bought a plot of land in the beautiful Winchester countryside. The stunning build is now completed and features over 30 sash windows by Dale Joinery.
Mr Pollikett faced strict regulations from the council due to the land’s protected status, which dictated the home’s permitted design.
Plans were agreed for a luxurious house featuring five bedrooms and three en suites, set within an acre of land.
The high-spec kitchen features two sets of timber bi fold doors, one of which spans almost 5 metres wide. Seamlessly connecting home and garden, they invite the outdoors in, offering plenty of light and superb views.
Energy efficiency and sustainability was an important element to the build and one of the reasons why timber sash windows and doors were the ideal choice.
Mr Pollikett explains “I always planned to put timber sash windows in due to the quality and the look.”
He obtained quotes from a variety of companies but when Mr Pollikett’s chosen builders merchant, Elliotts, introduced Dale Joinery to him, he was happy with the reasonable price and high-quality finish.
The impressive oversized entrance door is grand, finished in a contemporary Light Grey. Combined with the side panels and top lights, this is the perfect feature entrance to add kerb appeal.
Acoustic glass was used in some spaces to give a peaceful feel to the rooms. Almost 30 made to measure timber sash windows were installed – finished in Signal White.
Now complete and marketed for £1.9 million, the home won the NHBC Pride In The Job Award, recognizing the superior quality and finish.
As a builder of bespoke properties, Darrell hopes to embark on a new project soon, stating, “I would use Dale windows again.”
