Our clients were fairly experienced self builders and had built previously. However they chose D&M Homes to benefit from our flexible approach and help throughout the project.
The lack of rigidity in street pattern and residential layout for this site provided our Design Studio some freedom to consider suitable alternative styles.
Specific attention was paid to the views into and off the plot, which led to the location, orientation, position of accommodation and external openings and fenestration.
Many of the trees to the rear and side boundaries and the maple to the front provide focal points and an important feature to retain against the natural skyline and landscape setting.
As these clients were building to sell, the end profit was paramount to them, so they decided to use individual sub-contractors.
To allow them the time to source the labour, D&M Homes’ Project Co-Ordinator Ian Watson was always on hand to help.
As our clients were commissioning individual contractors on a daily rate basis and with a lack of materials storage on site, it was vitally important that our Materials Department scheduled the deliveries to site to ensure the smooth running of the project.
