The family had lived in this property since the 90s are were now looking to create a larger living space where the growing family could enjoy spending time all together.
Throughout the years the family had been expanding but the property had the same layout, as time went by the property remained the same which was becoming cramped, therefore a vast re-modelling and extension of the home was required in order to bring the family back together in a more comfortable environment.
The family home was suffering from poor connection to the garden and the internal rooms didn’t flow from one another.
Granit Architects worked with the home owners to come up with a solution to open up the internal spaces and enable the family to enjoy the seamless connection between the home and garden.
The solution entailed the whole ground floor rooms being open up into a contemporary open plan living space.
To the rear of the property the house benefitted from a large kitchen / dining and living space which transitioned beautifully into the garden and patio area through modern slim sliding doors.
A three-track Sieger Slim Sliding Door system was installed to the rear of the home which featured one fixed pane and two sliding panes of glass.
The elegant slim sightlines of this system help to break the divide between home and garden even when the doors are closed.
