This beautiful extension project is the second extension Simply Extend has completed on Scholars Road, both to incredible standards.
This build fell within permitted development restrictions and therefore the design team did not need to seek planning permission approval from the local Lambeth council. The Simply Extend team constructed a wrap-around extension on this home, which enabled them to create a large kitchen diner area.
Wrap-around extensions add the most amount of space to a property and are particularly popular for mid-terraced homes like this one. The extension uses the dead space down the side of the property, which is being wasted and extends the rear of the property further back into the garden space.
Whilst it can be more expensive than other types of extension, you definitely get the most out of your money with more space and skylights that bring in more natural light.
The glazing choices in this extension need a special mention, with the stunning custom glass panel at the rear. This allows lots of natural light to flood into the new living space and creates a window to the garden.
The custom panel stands out next to the bi-folding door, with the inset wall creating a small alcove for the sofa to be placed in. In an open-plan kitchen, little sections like this can make your kitchen seem cosier and segmented.
