Kelvin Collins faced a protracted battle for his knock-down and rebuild project; with the local planners even refusing a design produced to their own sketches.

Eventually, plans were passed for a one-and-a-half-storey dwelling. It has an open-plan kitchen diner, bedroom, bathroom and utility on the ground floor, and a bedroom with ensuite WC on the half-storey.
