Coastal Hardware for Halwyn’s Cornish Coastal Setting

Coastal Group worked with Bercot Kitchens to supply architectural hardware for Halwyn, a new visitor destination on a family-run farm in Crantock, Cornwall. The site combines a 15-bay driving range, a 12-hole landscaped mini golf course and a feasting barn restaurant, bringing together leisure, dining and the surrounding coastal landscape.

With its exposed coastal location and high visitor numbers, the project required hardware that could withstand salty sea air and regular use while maintaining its appearance over time. The design takes inspiration from nature, making the most of the valley views across Crantock and creating a strong connection between the restaurant’s interior and outdoor spaces.

Inside the feasting barn, the classic country-style interiors feature Coastal Group’s Regent Lever Handle in satin brass. Its warm finish complements the rustic aesthetic, adding a refined detail to the restaurant’s welcoming atmosphere.

Large-format lift and slide doors form a central part of the design, opening onto decking and outdoor seating to create a seamless transition between indoors and out. The HS Portal Comfort Unit Lift & Slide – Scheme L provides the opening system, framing the landscape while offering a practical solution for the expansive glazed doors.

Given the size and weight of the panels, the KM7 Lift & Slide Handle was selected for its strength and ease of operation. A flush pull handle with a radiused end completes the arrangement, allowing convenient operation from the exterior.

Elsewhere, the driving range’s heavy barn doors required durable, reliable hardware. Coastal Group’s 316 marine-grade stainless steel projection hinges were specified to support full door operation while resisting the demands of the coastal environment.

The completed project combines considered detailing with robust materials, helping Halwyn deliver a welcoming visitor experience in a challenging seaside setting.
