Waldens Farm is an energy efficient, light filled SIPs home in Wiltshire that has helped the homeowners to ‘live their dream’.
Designed by Winchester based Adam Knibb Architecture, Waldens Farm is a 220m2, 4 bedroom single storey home, constructed from 142mm Kingspan TEK Building System. The stylish SIPs home has large floor to ceiling sliding doors that maximise daylight, benefits from solar gain and makes the most of stunning views from nearly every room. There is a 1.2m overhang to the south elevation to provide shade when needed.
The design flexibility of SIPS really does shine through at Waldens Farm. Unlike traditional methods of construction that require roof trusses, SIPS are structural and are supported by Glulam beams. This allowed for double height living spaces, mezzanine levels and room in the roof.
One of the key requirements of the project was a speedy build and following SIPs design and fabrication at SIPS@Clays HQ in Skipton, they installed the SIPs structure in just six days.
