Angie Robinson and Ed Devlin’s spacious garden offered the perfect build plot for the modern, energy efficient self-build they desired.

While planning proved an arduous process, the couple is delighted with their completed bespoke home.

Inside, the house is light and spacious, with a contemporary edge. Having enjoyed the exposed beams of the period house next door, the couple incorporated exposed glulam beams into the interior as a design detail.

The property is incredibly energy efficient, and is expected to be much cheaper to run than their previous home. As well as the ground source heat pump, the couple also benefit from solar electric and thermal panels on the south-facing roof.
