When the homeowners of this striking oak frame home first approached Welsh Oak Frame, they already had planning permission linked to the existing cottage that sat on the site. The couple wanted to change the approved plans that were already in place to instead have something completely bespoke. They turned to Welsh Oak Frame to come up with a new, bespoke design that perfectly suited their lifestyles. The original cottage was demolished and the new design resulted in a beautiful four-bedroom home with an abundance of wow-factor features.

This home demonstrates how to successfully combine traditional oak details with contemporary design. The property has many spectacular modern details including a double-height atrium at the rear, expansive glazed elements including a glazed gable creating a seamless link with the garden area. The ground floor benefits from floor-to-ceiling glass and there is a large walk-on rooflight that looks down into the basement allowing natural light to filter to the subterranean level.

Exposed oak both inside and out allows the structure to take centre stage, brimming with character and warmth.  The modern décor compliments the oak frame and minimally framed glass balustrades offer no distraction from the elegance of the oak frame building
