Northamptonshire Single Storey Passivhaus

This new single storey Passivhaus has been built in the grounds of a grade II listed house in Northamptonshire. The homeowners, a successful sub-contractor in the construction industry, was well placed and experienced to managed his own self build. He had previously been involved in a similar project that utilised SIPs, so knew this was the route he wanted to go down. He engaged the skills of the design team at Glosford SIPs, who collaborated closely with the architects (Clive Chapman Associates) and the homeowner to ensure the perfect result.

The design had to allow for large areas of fenestration, stone parapets, sedum roofs and a solar photovoltaic array, as well as a comprehensive MVHR system. The team at Glosford SIPs comment: “We always thrive on a challenge and this project presented us with many engineering problems to overcome, having an in-house teams f designers, engineers and a wealth of knowledge and experience, places us well for complex projects.”
