This project in Norfolk is a good example of the flexibility of a Hebhomes kit. Working closely with our client’s local architect, we amended our TH302 from the Steading range to produce a unique design with glazed gables and oriel windows.
Planning had previously been a challenge on this site but with the agricultural form of a Hebhome being very sympathetic to the surroundings, full planning was obtained. The completed house sits very well in its mature surroundings and with the client being a former landscape contractor, it will only get better.
The council are also delighted with the result and have nominated the project for a design award.
The client wanted a green building with low running costs. The structurally insulated panel (SIP) kit sits on a passive slab foundation. Additional acoustic insulation was added together with an upgrade to triple glazing.
As a result, the building is exceptionally quiet and very comfortable. The demand for energy is very low and the solar gain in the winter warms the house to just the right level.
This is a great example of a modern, contemporary kit house with stunning internal spaces and detailing but that also fits beautifully into the traditional English countryside.
