Affordable Oak Frame Home Plans

Simon Bradford utilised his self build skills, as well as those of his family, to build a charming oak frame home for a cost of just £896 per m2.

The House’s design is based on a range by Border Oak known as Permain Cottage and features a steeply sloping roof, gable-end chimney, generous porch and symmetrical dormer windows.

The exterior was finished in timber weatherboarding in order to satisfy planning stipulations, while the interior benefits from characterful exposed beams and solid oak doors.
