Hi,

Whilst digging the foundation trenches an issue has been found in only one small corner of the build. The ground is great everywhere else so the builder is hoping the structural engineer will say piling is only needed in the one corner we have had an issue. This will obviously be a lot cheaper.

Is it possible to mix two foundation types like that? Or is it more likely the engineer will insist on piling the full foundations?
