Build It has previously identified the risk in terms of Extended Permitted Development Rights and the requirement to implement development under these rights by the end of May 2019.
The good news is that new regulations have been announced which will make permanent the existing temporary rights to extend a dwelling by up to 8 metres in the case of a detached dwelling and up to 6 metres in the case of any other dwelling.
These regulations come into effect on the 25th May 2019 and remove the time limiting date of 29th May 2019, including the condition for development to be completed by that date.
