Baufritz’s homes are built at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Erkheim, southern Germany, where timber-frame elements are fabricated off-site with sanitation and electrics pre-installed before being shipped and assembled on the client’s plot. Guided factory tours let prospective clients watch homes being made before committing to their own build. Alongside the factory sits the HausSchneiderei design centre and show park the hub, Baufritz describes it as, “your ideas come true and your house becomes a unique home.”
The design centre underpins several client-facing services:
Detailed design decisions: architects and designers work through the plans with clients face-to-face, refining layout and specification before sign-off
Selection of internal and external elements: clients choose flooring, windows, cladding, doors, and roof tiles in the design centre’s sampling showroom, with guidance from experienced designers, a stage Baufritz calls the most exciting part of the process
Final pricing: once the design and material selections are finalised and the contract signed, Baufritz issues a fixed price and timescale, removing cost uncertainty for the remainder of the build.
Model house experience: three show homes on site Haussicht, Heimat 4.0, and Lichtblick which can be toured, with select homes available for overnight stays so prospective clients can experience Baufritz living firsthand.
Interior design support: dedicated specialists advise on bathroom, lighting, and wellness planning and broader interior schemes, guiding clients from concept through to finished detail.
Together, the facility and design centre turn sampling and detailed planning into a single, guided experience.
