Baufritz’s House Extensions service adds a bespoke, prefabricated addition to an existing home, without compromising on design, quality, or programme, letting a growing family stay put while their home grows with them. Every project starts with a precise analysis of the existing building substance, helping decide whether extending or partial rebuild is the right route before design begins.

Where planning permission requires parts of the original structure to be retained, Baufritz works alongside trusted partners to sympathetically renovate and refurbish the existing home, so its façade and finishes are brought in line with the new build rather than sitting apart from it. The extension itself is manufactured off-site at Baufritz’s German facilities under humidity-controlled conditions, then assembled on-site by specialist teams under a fixed-price, turnkey contract.

House Adler, a free-standing double-storey extension in Jersey, shows the approach in practice: a contemporary, barn-style addition finished in Baufritz’s signature timber cladding and timber-render façade, separated from the retained original house by a slim insulated gap yet visually unified by matching materials throughout. The result is a 3,680 sq ft home with five bedrooms and a double height dining space that feels like a single, thoughtfully designed whole rather than an extension tacked onto an older building.
