30th-31st May 2026 - time to get your dream home started!
GET TWO FREE TICKETS HEREBill had spent all his working life so far building houses for other people. When the children were young it suited Bill to live in North Kent , but envisaged a quieter life on the Isle of Sheppey.
Bill’s original budget was always under strain as the plan was conceived during Covid and material costs based on pre-covid rates. At the same time , there was the strong desire to build a home that used quality materials and that would be aesthetically pleasing to look at.
Bill had built homes for others that used ‘handmade’ looking bricks and had this in mind for this ‘forever home’ . Normally these bricks are expensive and would have been beyond the reach of Bill’s budget .
After some negotiation with the importers, and having got the Vandersanden brick type approved by the Swale Planning Authority, we were able to order and schedule the brick deliveries, which required the use of an all-terrain Moffett truck, at no extra cost.
Was it a good choice? Neighbours have commented on how Bill’s house has character, but maintains a dignified presence amongst the other homes in the area.
Being able to assist this hard working family man to achieve his dream in just 1 key way, is what brings us at Findabrick the satisfaction of a job well done.
